Hey kiddos, it’s your BEST DC Blog Moderator here with a few administrative notes.
First, this is meant to be a FUN contest. We don’t mean to insult anyone or their blog by calling them a BEST or a WORST blog and we aren’t trying to stir up shit, as has been suggested. We are here to pick the BEST of the best and to discuss what it is that make a blog good or bad. These are little pieces of knowledge that the entire DC blogsphere can use to improve their blogs!!! When we say WORST DC Blog, we don’t really mean that someone is the WORST. How could we ever know who is really the WORST? How could anyone really know? These are subjective opinions that are meant in the SPIRIT of FUN, not to fan flames or to instigate rancor or hate! BOOOOO to that!!!!
If you want to read about someone who GETS IT, check out Brunch Bird’s post today. Brunch Bird, which is one of your Moderator’s FAVORITE DC Blogs, shows us what classy looks like. She GETS IT!!!!! This is all meant in good humor fun! To be named the WORST by us is probably a HUGE compliment to many of you!!!
Second, our nominations come in through a highly secretive method both through the comments and direct emails (bestdcblog at yahoo dot com). We’ll never reveal who makes a nomination. Just like we’ll never let you post personal data of bloggers. That’s not what this is about. This is a FUN discussion and light-hearted discussion. This is HONOURABLE.
We’re just trying to get everyone to lighten up a little bit and come together in a honourable but FUN forum. We all sit together at the blogger happy hours but we never get to discuss what makes our blogs GOOD or BAD and now HERE is our chance!!!!

Definitively, one of the worst DC blogs is Best DC Blog. The explanation for the Worst Blog contest (1:46am) sounds good by itself but, when you look at what is actually happening here, it sounds like our dear moderator is full of it. My favorite part of the text: “We don’t mean to insult anyone or their blog by calling them a BEST or a WORST blog…” Its funny that you say that after telling us that you want to hear about the “smell of Loserville” and “mentally ill bloggers.” All without insulting anyone? What, exactly, are you trying to accomplish here?

There is sometimes a disconnect between the text you read in the posts and what I, the Moderator, write. We’re working hard to bring our ENTIRE editorial team on the same page and, as you guessed, this is not always an easy task! Some memembers of the team are a little snarkier than others, but believe you me, we all agree that this is an honourable contest that is not meant to insult anyone!
