The Second Round, Eliminating Round, is now OVER!!! This competition, BEST DC Blog by the Sexiest Female Blogger, is becoming more fun and more popular by the minute!! We love being fun and popular, but it’s more important to us that this is a highly honourable contest!  We are the keepers of the flame and the definers of standards in the DC Blogosphere. Together, we determine who and what is the BEST of the Best in the DC Blogosphere!

You spoke LOUD and CLEAR in Round 2 and told us to eliminate three (3) blogs which are not great and definitely not the BEST of the Best in the DC Blogosphere and are definitely not the  BEST DC Blog by the Sexiest Female Blogger. You’ll see their names below with lines through them. We still have a little bit of eliminating to do, but that’s just part of this honourable pursuit!

Now, onto Round Three, Eliminating Round. We MUST eliminate three (3) more blogs before we can vote!!!! Defining whether or not a given day is Opposite Day is famously difficult, as “today is Opposite Day” is always a false statement (assuming the speaker’s participation is required), and “it isn’t Opposite Day” is always true (assming the same).

You may be familiar with the general routine for opposite day. We were all exposed to the rules of opposite day as children. Black is white, yes means no, a lie is the truth and everyone laughs when grandma asks for a diaper change.

When I was a kid, we couldn’t wait for Opposite Day to come around each year. All we could think about was that one day on the calendar when we could say what we didn’t mean and there was nothing anyone could or couldn’t do about it. The dumbest kid taught class. Teachers served detentions. Library books were for sale. The school nurse got ill (or faked it, perhaps, in the spirit of the day). Of all our national holidays, Opposite Day has been the silliest and most mind-boggling.
